We covered 70 miles today. It was helpful that we had flat terrain and a tailwind all day which allowed us to ride at an average speed of over 15 MPH for the entire day.
We stopped at the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse which is a National Park Service site. They had an interesting museum which included a film about how the lighthouse was moved a few years ago because erosion of the shoreline was threatening the structure. The lighthouse is a brick structure that is over 200 feet talk so it is amazing it was moved intact.
