We got a late start from the motel this morning because we waited for the rain to stop. It finally stopped and we got on the road at 11 am. Most of the morning we rode through pine forests and saw numerous log trucks taking trees to the mills. Apparently we were cycling through logging country. We stopped for a late lunch after 40 miles in Folkston, GA at a small German cafe which was alongside two sets of RR tracks. These tracks are known as the funnel because all freight trains traveling between FL and the rest of the U.S. must utilize these tracks. As a result a train went by about every 20 minutes. There was a platform setup for people known as "train watchers" to sit and watch
the trains. I saw 4 or 5 train watchers on the platform.
