We stopped at the above visitor center to look around. Larry was in "heaven." He provided us
an informed and interesting narration about the Civil War battles fought in Fredericksburg. (Being in the South perhaps I should say the War of Northern Aggression or the War Between the States instead of the Civil War).

The riding has become more rural and a little more hilly than the past two days.

Due to the location of campgrounds we had to either ride about 34 miles or 70 miles. It became clear after stopping at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center that it would be unlikely we would be able to cover 70 miles unless we rode after dark. Rather than getting in late and rushing to set up camp in the dark we opted to stay at a KOA campground outside Fredericksburg. So we ended up doing an easy 34 mile day. The early stop was nice because we could set up the tents and then just relax for a change.

There is an Italian restaurant and a Chinese restaurant nearby that deliver food so getting dinner should not be a problem.

Hal has become our defacto navigator. Using the Adventure Cycling route maps and the GPS on his iPhone he has become quite good at navigating - those who know Hal may think I am making this up but it is true!!
