Just completed a 65 mile day to a National Park Service Campground on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore which is part of the NC Outer Banks. The first 40 miles this morning to Kitty Hawk was typical riding. But once we headed south on the Outer Banks a combination of a level straight road and a tailwind allowed us to easily sail along at 18 to 22 MPH all the way to the campground. Riding a recumbent under these conditions was a real joy. Food choices here are slim. The only store is at a marina across from the campground which has a few sandwiches and beer.
