Here is the view from our campsite at Bells Island Campground on Bells Island, NC.

The view is looking out across the bay to the Outer Bank barrier islands which are between the mainland coast of NC and the Atlantic Ocean.

Most of today we rode in a generally easterly direction to reach the coast. The morning was easy because we had a slight tailwind. However, in the afternoon we had to ride into a moderate headwind which was taxing. It was overcast and gray all day. And, it was the first day I was cold and had to wear a wind vest over my bike jersey. The thought of warm Florida weather sounds good right now.

The sky looks like it is clearing and the weather report calls for clear and sunny for the next few days. Hopefully, we won't have a headwind on the Outer Banks tomorrow. Hal and I did a week long bike trip on the Outer Banks about 15 years ago and the headwinds were so strong that we had to ultimately abort the trip.
