Today was a pretty hard 47 mile day from near Port Jervis to Portland,PA. The first 40 miles were in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It had some nice scenery including some views of the Delaware River. It has also had a few hard climbs including one very long one. Add to that no services or food for the 40 miles. We had to ride it fueled only by snack food which was inadequate. Finally, we crossed from NJ to PA by crossing the Delaware River on a sidewalk (shown above) on I-84.
We finally were able to get food in the town of Delaware Water Gap at 5 pm. I was starving!!
